Research Institute of Sun Yat-Sen University in Shenzhen
    Founded in September 2006, Research Institute of Sun Yat-Sen University in Shenzhen is a public organization of Sun Yat-Sen University approved by Shenzhen Municipal Government. It is the showcase of Sun Yat-sen University in Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, the important production-teaching-research base. The institute is mainly engaged in training of high qualified professionals, developing scientific technology, industrializing scientific & technological achievements, running high-tech enterprises, etc.
    Carrying on Sun Yat-sen University’s mission, “to contribute and collaborate, to serve the country’s demands and to meet international standards”, taking advantage of its strength in resources and talents, the institute is planning to establish the state-of-art production-teaching-research base, aiming to become the center of technological innovation, talent cultivation, and academic exchange for the region of Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macao, and the world.
    Since its foundation, the institute has established partnerships with multiple major enterprises in Shenzhen, including Huawei, Skyworth, Konka, and Shenzhen Subway, and has undertaken nearly thirty Provincial and Municipal funded research projects in additional to enterprise supported projects, and more than ten product industrialization projects. The institute has also successfully recruited one postdoctoral fellow, provided EMBA and MBA programs for hundreds of local entrepreneurs and professionals, and launched study-abroad programs and postgraduate curricula in project management, etc.

In 2008, Shenzhen R&D Center of Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education for Digital Family  was established.
In 2008, Shenzhen Zhong Da Incubator Base for Production-Teaching-Research Co., Ltd was founded.
In 2008, Shenzhen Teaching and Training Center was set up.
In 2009, Shenzhen R & D Center of State Key Laboratory of Biocontrol was established.
In 2009, RIOSYSUIS undertook the building project of MOE Engineering Research Center of Digital Life.
